Marriage in Kingdom of God. Day 2 Devotion.

2 Timothy 2:22 NIV

“Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

My dear friends in Christ,

There is great wisdom in the Apostle Paul’s exhortation to young Timothy. He does not merely advise restraint; he instructs an urgent flight from youthful passions. These desires—often cloaked in charm—carry the capacity to derail one's spiritual journey.

We are not merely called to run from sin, but also to run towards holiness. Paul urges us to actively pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. These are not passive virtues; they require intent and effort. They are the fruits cultivated in the company of those who earnestly seek the Lord with undivided hearts.

In this verse lies a beautiful balance: separation from sin, and fellowship with the faithful. Christianity is not a solitary pilgrimage. We journey with others who share the same longing for the presence of God.

May we examine our hearts today. What are we pursuing? And with whom? Let us be found among those who chase after godliness and walk in step with the Spirit.

Let the foundation of all relationship that we have is pure heart and love and not lust or worldy desires. Love will last forever. Love always starts with death to self.

My prayer for all of us, may by His grace and guidance we learn to understand what love is.

Bless you.
